About Us

History:

Much like most businesses, TacTunes was hatched out of the garage. Dan was tired of having his job site radios break. So he created the first ammocan radio out of a standard surplus 30cal ammocan, using some spare speakers and an old Milwaukee drill battery back in 2009. TacTunes has come a long way since then. Dan teamed up with Jesse to modify and design our BangBox into what it is today. They used to compete to see which one could make the radio louder, tougher, last longer, etc. No trip was wasted, at every camping trip, hunting trip, weekend off and holiday they competed to see who could make a better Ammocan speaker. After many different designs and prototypes, the BangBox was born. Dan & Jesse have known each other since high school, have a passion for guns, shooting, outdoors and loud music. For them, TacTunes just made sense.

Our product:

All of our cans are made from real surplus military ammocans, they come from every corner of the globe and are used across all branches of the military. The history of each can is different, some may have been used for training, or even in combat on the front lines. Each ammocan is fully inclosed and has controls for all the sound settings. Each BangBox is handmade right here in America by Dan and Jesse. As for a the name: they wanted something fun and not too serious, after all, they were making this to enjoy on their shooting and hunting trips. After many references to guns, gear, and being “tacti-cool” BangBox stuck!

The guys:
